American Rescue Plan / Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief

NY State is receiving over $8 Billion dollars “to support schools in safely reopening and sustaining safe operations while meeting the academic, social, emotional and mental health needs of students resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic” (NYSED).

Of that funding, Challenge Charter School is receiving money for our school’s specific needs. With the funding, we are addressing a number of recommended NY State Education Department issues with the extra funding.

To include our families in the plans for our spending, we hosted two Town Halls and sent out a family survey in June 2021 before our deadline to apply. We used the results from that survey to help us plan the 2021-22 school year and beyond.
